I AM EVAN PERKS.

I am a young editor/3d artist originally from North London and moved to the Isle of Wight when I was 11. 

 

I am currently studying film and media production at the Isle of Wight college.  From a young age, I have always been creative and loved making things.  I constantly drew and wrote story books for my parents, mostly based on Spiderman or Lego ninjago

 

As I grew and moved onto high school, my passion for art increased and I started to think about perhaps a career in games.  Then in the middle of my GCSE’s, COVID hit.   

 

All of a sudden, like everyone, I was stuck at home with very few school lessons.  So, with no one teaching me anything, I decided to teach myself something and found out about an editing program called After Effects.  I created edits of movies and games and posted them on Instagram.  As the months passed I continued working with After Effects, learning more and as I learnt more, I naturally fell in love with editing. I loved the freedom of being able to be as creative as I wanted and make the edits how I envisaged them to be.

 

From my early days of After Effects, the natural progression was to try Blender, creating some animations and to see where my imagination would take me.  I’ve now made the change to  Unreal Engine 5 because of it's real time rendering and photorealism capabilities.

 

My long term goals are to work as a visual effect artist on movies or maybe freelance artist as time goes on.  Who knows, it’s still early days.
